Sorry college students.

Carcades Are A Parents Worse Nightmare

The Carcade uses a webcam to hook onto the inside bottom window and makes the natural environment objects in the game. For example, lets say your playing an airplane game like this one in the video. Well when you pass a tree it will appear on the game and you have to find a way to get around it. As you can imagine the faster your going the harder the game gets. The one thats in the video is just a prototype but it gives a good look at what might be coming to a car near you.

Wow this is has to be one of the dumbest things I have ever seen for the iPod. I mean with all the different carrying cases you would think they would add $60,000 worth on them. But if you want to make your ear sparkle and make it the most expensive body part then these bad boys are just for you. I would be affraid to go into public with them. Some one might see them and snatch them from you. So be careful.

Apple has broken with tradition and is offering some customers a SIM unlocked version of its iPhone.

A notice on Apple’s web site states that consumers in Hong Kong can buy an unlocked 8GB iPhone for HK$5,400 (£385) or a 16GB version for HK$6,200 (£422).

Apple has not made much of a splash about the release, which goes against its usual region-locked policies.

The Hong Kong Apple Store pages say:

An iPhone 3G purchased at the Apple Online Store can be activated with any wireless carrier. Simply insert the SIM from your current phone into iPhone 3G and connect to iTunes 8 to complete activation

Wondering how some apps get accepted by Apple? Apple rejecting the Podcaster app was for the Podcast section of iTunes. I don’t know a single person who uses that section in iTunes (doesn’t mean no one does, were just saying).Maybe this is why Joy of Tech came up with this wonderful graph showing how the apps are picked. Of course it’s just a joke but c’mon why does it seem like if it’s a flashight app then it is automatically accepted?

Knock offs come in all sorts and sizes. Many companies try to produce “fake” clothing and apparel. Not often will they come up with a cell phone or a gadget. Let’s take the iPhone for example. There is a Chinese company manufacturing an iPhone called the ActFind. Not sure why they came up with that name but hey, whatever floats your boat. The company is reusing some iPhone photos to attract people to buy the ActFind. There is also another company doing the same thing but their calling it,  Shake to Control GSM Quad-band IP001and it costs a whopping $143.

Gearlog came across the knock-off and dug up some other ones, too. The $116 “Shaking Control Phone Unlocked Tri-band P168S” looks interesting.

“Select next previous song by shaking the phone 3.5 inch Touch Screen QVGA high clear LCD display screen and 1.3 Mega Pixel Digital Camera. Also, it has MP3 MP4 player function. Besides, it supports dual SIM cards for calling as well as Unlocked SIM card. If you buy now, we will send you 256M Card Free of charge. Now go ahead!”

The Shake.
